Hosinsul(self-defence) refers to the skills of controlling and subduing an opponent using various techniques such as grabs, hand techniques, joint locks, and throwing techniques. In traditional martial arts like Taekwondo, Judo, and Jujitsu, these skills are systematically categorized and applied in practice, excluding unnecessary techniques. Therefore, mastering only one type of martial art does not imply mastery of Hosinsul.
At the Korea Hapkido Center, various traditional martial arts skills, including real Hosinsul, are taught in earnest. Hosinsul practitioners can naturally accept and analyze various techniques learned at the Korea Black Belt Centre, comparing them with their own. They develop the ability to adapt and apply these skills, which is the essence of the practice.

Recently, training programs have been designed to overcome fears through one-on-one sparring, instead of traditional methods like breaking tiles or demonstrating power techniques. By doing so, practitioners develop the mental strength to face challenges with calmness and resilience.
By overcoming fears and achieving goals in training, practitioners strengthen their mental fortitude, which can be applied to overcome challenges in everyday life.
Through continuous practice and perseverance, practitioners grow into true leaders with high levels of expertise and strong character. They not only gain self-defense skills but also develop the mindset to care for and respect others, which is the ultimate goal of martial arts training.
